Special Driving Event, Bakewell

Special Driving Event, Bakewell

The Mayor of Bakewell, Bill Storey, is supporting a special driving event for local drivers and motorcyclists.

It will be held on Saturday 19th October between 10am and 3pm from the car park of the childrens nursery, on Matlock Street in Bakewell. This is next to the Methodist Church.

Anyone wishing to have their driving assessed, or to get some advice from the local advanced motoring group, are welcome to come along. It is free of charge.

Bill said ' It is best to book a slot during those times to ensure there will be someone free to take you out. It is in your own car and will be on an easy route lasting about 30 minutes. Or you can just turn up and see if anyone is free to take you out'.

Bill has been a member of the advanced driving group for over 35 years, so knows the advantages that can be gained from even a little extra advice.

There are various courses available depending what each person wants, or needs. Motorcyclists are welcome too.

If you are interested, contact the group on Bakewell 01629 812732 or email matlockdhv1@btinternet.com to find out more, and to reserve a place.
