Double Gold Award for Bakewell in Bloom
Congratulations go to Bakewell in Bloom on an impressive GOLD award for the second year running in the Small Town Category of the RHS East Midlands in Bloom competition.

Christmas Lights Switch-on Cancelled
The Town Council learned this morning (21st November) that operatives not be available for road closure duties to facilitate the Christmas Lights Switch-on due to them performing extended traffic duties elsewhere in Bakewell due to the restricted amount of parking expected to be available following the recent adverse weather.

Bakewell Christmas Market takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November 2019. Bakewell Businesses raise funds for Rowsley Primary School
Traders in Bakewell are getting together to raise money for Rowsley School which was so badly damaged in the recent floods. A raffle is taking place with lots of prizes, hampers etc.
Tickets are available from Orvis on King Street, Bakewell, or Park Pantry at Great Longstone.

Special Driving Event, Bakewell
The Mayor of Bakewell, Bill Storey, is supporting a special driving event for local drivers and motorcyclists.
It will be held on Saturday 19th October between 10am and 3pm from the car park of the childrens nursery, on Matlock Street in Bakewell. This is next to the Methodist Church.
