Following a review of operations Bakewell Town Council is to close its Yeld Road Play Area.

The decision has been taken due to the increasing maintenance and renewal costs, inappropriate usage, and previous damage to the site.

The Mayor of Bakewell, Bill Storey, organised a morning of litter picking in a wood owned and managed by Bakewell Town Council on Saturday 2nd March.

Free health checks for Dales residents

Derbyshire Dales District Council is again offering a free health check to local residents.

A drop-in Health Promotion Day at Matlock's Lime Grove Medical Centre from 9am to 4pm on Tuesday 12 March will include a free Boditrax scan, which measures muscle, fat and water percentages, metabolic age and hidden fat around internal organs.

Derbyshire Foundation: Older People's Fund

The Fund offers small grants of a minimum £50 up to £5,00 and will consider applications for the following activities:

  • Revenue costs, including continuous running costs (but only where the grant being applied for is for a specific and identified element of your costs, e.g., rent and refreshments)

DDDC Consultation on potential Council Tax hike to address long term empty homes issue

DCC: School crossing patrols service to be retained

Derbyshire County Council has been considering the option of School Crossing Patrols being paid for by the community. Following feedback DCC has decided not to proceed with the plan. This means that the service will continue under the present arrangements for the foreseeable future.
